This is a picture of the ice chunks that are completely covering the ground - this is what was making the horrendous noise in the middle of the night as the wind blew these out of the trees and against our house

And this is why we haven't driven on the roads yet...

Indiana Winter

Here are some lovely pictures Ryan took of our yard after Round 1 of the Ice Storm. So far, round 2 hasn't been as bad as expected - it's mostly been sleet instead of freezing rain. So, there's a whole layer of sleety/snowy stuff on top of the existing ice. The best way to explain what it's like outside right now is something Ryan said earlier, "It's like walking on a beach." And, strangely, I understand and agree (except our "sand" is quite a bit colder!)

Museum

Lainey and I got a chance to go to the Museum last Friday with some of her buddies - a last hoorah before all the bad weather hit. We had a great day!

Another year, another visit with Santa
