Our tough little soccer player

Lainey had her first soccer practice yesterday, and she loved it! She wasn't shy at all and jumped right into practicing with the other girls. She's a quick little thing for being the smallest on the team!
I call this her "I'm about to score a goal on you" smirk.

Lainey's comment to me after her first practice was, "I'm the best player on the team!" While this wasn't exactly true, it's nice to see that self confidence isn't an issue! I have posted her soccer schedule under "Upcoming Events" on this site.

Look who's seven!

Alyssa invited 6 friends over for a sleepover for her seventh birthday. They had a great time, but no one got much sleep (especially me!)

They decorated flip flops. Here are the beautiful results: Here she is blowing out candles on her cupcake cake:

Lainey definitely fit right in with the group and had as much fun as anyone else.

Alyssa wanted to get her ears pierced for her birthday. So, after a lot of begging and convincing Ryan that she was old enough, she got her wish. She even got the added bonus of being accompanied by Aunt Beth & Mamaw.

I don't have a picture that shows a closeup of the earrings, so you'll just have to see them the next time you see Alyssa in person!

Pretty Girls

SPOILER ALERT... (below is a pic of Lainey's dance recital costume - don't scroll down if you want to wait until the recital in June)

Baby Isaac!

Isaac was born on Tuesday (March 9th). He was supposed to be born today (Friday), but he just couldn't wait that long. We went to visit him Tuesday night. We got lost on the way to the hospital due to taking the back roads since the interstate was shut down. We finally got there and it was well worth the adventure. The girls absolutely LOVE their newest cousin!

The proud papa

The girls finally let me have a turn to hold my nephew!
And by the way, the adventure continued... we walked out the wrong door at the hospital and had to walk around the entire building to find our car. Then we couldn't get back on the interstate, and the back road we were going to take back was closed. Let's just say the girls were VERY tired the next day for school, but haven't stopped talking about Isaac since our visit. Lainey informed me we need to visit him every day.

Alyssa's Basketball Skills

Alyssa just finished another great basketball season where she made her first basket (without assistance!). She has improved so much since last year. It's amazing to watch her skills as well as confidence grow.
